How We Choose a FOObulous Hat for You

People love hats. Big hats, small hats, FOOscinators, and FOOdoras. But often, their eye is not drawn to the hat that best suits them. This is normal.

We all have favorite colors. And, usually, we have a dress, suit or look we want to complement. So some parameters are set. However, most people do not realize that their body type, height, weight, eye and skin color, length and color of hair, and face shape all play a huge role in finding that perfectly FOObulous design.

For instance, some of us (me) look embalmed in tan or beige. Others are stunning in these neutral shades. I cannot wear many greens. But two of my best friends wear it beautifully. Tall people can wear big hats. Many short or average height women cannot. I can. But I have a friend who looks like a patio umbrella in a big hat! 😁

Frills, lace, and ruffles aren’t for everyone’s personality.  For some, it creates a soft, feminine, and elegant look. Other look like a Little Bo Peep wannabe!

When you come to me for a custom piece, I take all these things into consideration. Likewise, at our Brown Hotel Trunk Show on Thursday prior to Derby, I try to get to know each guest a bit, evaluate their physical attributes, and help them make the best choice possible.

I taught psychology at two universities before moving to Louisville. I believe my extensive training helps me both understand my clients and assist them in making great choices.
